Damn it, Shoot!

The camera is broken. The last picture taken on it was a picture of me with the Wii Guitar in my hand "rocking out". Those were my specific instructions from Kyle as he took the picture..."Mommy, rock out and I will take your picture". Then I heard the camera drop when he went to put it upstairs...I didn't think much of it until I went to take a picture of him in his Superman costume and the lens wouldn't come out...then it wouldn't go back in...then Brad read on the internet that if you bang it the lens might open or close (whichever way it is broken...apparently this is a known issue with our type of camera). Anyway, the banging worked occasionally, but I refuse to bang my camera like a mad woman everytime I am trying to take picture and it wasn't very reliable anyway. Don't worry, the new camera is on its way from Amazon.com as we speak.

So you will have to wait for the "rock-it out" picture and the Superman picture (which by the way is the cutest thing ever).

Damn it!

Friday Conversations:
Kyle: Damn it, Mommy we forgot to get cards at Target today.
Me: What did you say?
Kyle: We forgot to get cards when we went to Target.

Sunday Conversations:
Kyle: Damn it, shoot I spilled water on me
Me: Honey, just say shoot not damn it
Kyle: Damn it shoot...damn it shoot...damn it shoot (laughing)

I think I will just go back to ignoring it...at least he is using it correctly.

Dutch Wonderland

A little extended vacation as we headed up to Pennsylvania to Dutch Wonderland and met up with some of our friends. It started out a little shaky with some thunderstorms in the area...but we persevered and it cleared up and turned out to be a sunny day.

Kyle loves all the rides...the bigger the better...the faster the better...he did not get that from me.

Who's driving this thing?

Some big slide races:

Please note my eyes are closed and I am saying a little prayer, however my son loves it:

Enjoying our ice cream:

This was the first ride of the day:

These guys are not good drivers:

She is too cute for words:

I think Robyn likes the off road cars a lot:

Move over, I am ready to dig:

Ocean City 2008

Yes, thats right...I said it...Ocean City. The most overpopulated beach resort anywhere...but it is only a little over 2 hours away and you can't grow up in Maryland without having been to a Dough Roller, Dumsers Dairyland, Candy Kitchen, Jolly Roger's, or on the Boardwalk. So off we went, and I must say we had a really good time. We had the best weather ever - low 80's and no rain or humidity.

Here is the list of our week's events:
  1. Beach, Beach, Beach, and Waves (Grammy is not good at waves)
  2. Miniature Golf
  3. Pier/Boardwalk
  4. Jolly Roger's Rides (he went on every ride he could...and wanted to do the bigger ones too)
  5. Bike Riding (yes, you can fit 4 adults and 2 kids on one bike)
  6. Sea Rocket Boat Ride
  7. Kite Flying (let the string all the way out)
  8. Jelly Fish Hunting
  9. Wii Playing
  10. Ice Cream Eating
  11. Dolphin Watching

It was a pretty fun filled week. The kids had a great time together and Kyle had a ton of favorite things each day.

A couple of shots from the week:

First night on the beach (before getting all wet from the waves):

Digging in the sand (all the pictures of this look exactly the same):

Riding on the highest Ferris Wheel...no fear:

Kite flying is fun...especially if you let all the string out:

What do you mean you can hear the ocean in a shell?

Bike rides on a Surrey Bike are fun:

Family fun:

Summer, where have you gone?

Updates, updates, updates.

It appears I have not been the best updater this summer. So here goes. We have been pretty busy with the pool, soccer, a couple of trips to the water park, and school.

This is our first year at our community pool and it has been a blast. Kyle loves the water and loves to swim around and jump in and he especially loves snowballs during adult swim time.

Kyle also started a soccer tots (soccer for 3 year olds) class this summer which has been a lot of fun. He really likes his Coach Keith and is good at following all the directions and loves to run around on the field...hopefully taking after Daddy.

Here are a few pics of soccer and the water park:

Happy Fourth of July

Our neighborhoods annual parade was a success. Kyle decorated his bike with Brad and he got to ride in the parade with some of the kids he is friends with. His favorite thing was the pinwheel on the front of his bike and the candy thrown by the kids in the parade.
